Terms and Conditions

Please read our general rental policy for Shankara rentals or inquiries, thank you for visiting.

1. Full staffing services

At Shankara, we provide a full team of staff during your stay, including security personnel, gardeners, housekeeping attendants, food and beverage attendants, a private chef, and the management team. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring your comfort and satisfaction throughout your visit.

2. Rental Taxes and Fees

A holiday property rental at Shankara is subject to local tax regulations. A service charge of 10% and a VAT of 7% will be added to the nightly rental price of the villa. Both the service charge and VAT will be included in your invoice and must be paid simultaneously with the villa rental payment.

3. Rental Deposit

A deposit is required when renting the full property. This deposit covers potential damages or additional charges incurred during your stay and will be returned upon check-out, provided there are no damages. Guests are responsible for any damages or breakages to the villa and its property during their rental period.

4. Payment Terms

Full Property Rental: A deposit of 50% of the total rental fee is required to confirm a reservation, with the remaining balance due no later than 30 days before arrival. If the booking is made within 30 days of the rental period, the full rental fee must be paid upfront.

Single Unit Rental: A deposit of 50% of the total rental fee is required to confirm a reservation, with the remaining balance due no later than 21 days before arrival. If the booking is made within 21 days of the rental period, the full rental fee must be paid upfront.

5. External Services

Shankara is not responsible for services provided by external companies on the island. We can offer recommendations but cannot guarantee the quality of external services.

6. Spa & Wellness Services

Our spa and wellness services are available through esteemed therapists and wellness groups. These services are not included in the rental price and must be booked in advance. Cancellations notified less than 4 hours before the appointment are subject to full payment.

7. Laundry and Dry Cleaning

Laundry and dry cleaning services are available for a fee. These services may be provided in-house or outsourced to trusted partners.

8. Transportation Services

We offer pick-up and drop-off services, including airport and pier transfers, as well as chauffeur services for island exploration may be booked in advance.

9. Insurance

While Shankara provides insurance coverage for guests during their stay, we strongly recommend securing personal travel insurance for comprehensive protection.

10. Cancellation policy

Full Property Rental:

- 90 days or more before arrival: Full refund minus a processing fee.

- 60-89 days before arrival: 50% of the total rental fee forfeited.

- Less than 60 days before arrival: Full rental fee forfeited.

- No show or early departure: No refunds provided.

Villa Rental:

- 60 days or more before arrival: Full refund minus a processing fee.

- 30-59 days before arrival: 50% of the total rental fee forfeited.

- Less than 30 days before arrival: Full rental fee forfeited.

- No show or early departure: No refunds provided.

11. minimum stay requirement

Minimum stay requirements vary depending on the season. Peak seasons may require a longer stay (3-5 nights), while off-peak times have shorter minimum stays (2-3 nights). Please check with our booking manager for specific details.

12. Check-In and Check-Out Times

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM noon. For late check-in or check-out requests, please contact us in advance.

13. Pets

Pets are not allowed in the property.

14. Amenities and Additional Costs

Our property offers a wide range of luxury amenities, such as a professional kitchen, dining room, living room, outdoor cinema, pool house, terrace, climate-controlled wine cellar, state-of-the-art sport center, fitness and art room, spa and wellness center, infinity pool, landscaped gardens, yoga deck, golf green, petanque court, and private outdoor lounges. Additional services, such as special health and wellness treatments, food and beverage arrangements, and leisure activities, may incur extra costs and should be paid in cash.

15. Payment Methods

We accept cash, major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), bank transfers, and some online payment platforms. For specific inquiries, please contact us.

16. Maximum Occupancy

Jade Villa (Standard): 2 adults*

Sapphire Villa (Deluxe): 2 adults with 1 child*

Small Master Villa: 2 adults with1 child or 3 adults*

Grand Master Villa: 2 adults with1 child or 3 adults*

Full Property Rental: capacity for approximately 20 persons

*Extra bed placement may be applicable based on availability

17. Events and Parties

Events or parties may be hosted at the villa with prior approval from our property manager (full property rental required). Additional fees and conditions may apply.

18. Concierge Service

A dedicated concierge service is available to assist with your requests.

19. Security

24/7 security personnel, gated access, and CCTV surveillance ensure your safety.

20. Privacy

Our property is designed to offer a private and secluded experience. Staff are trained to be discreet and respectful of your privacy

21. Sustainability

We are committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices, including the use of sustainable materials, water and electricity conservation, and collaboration with local partners.

22. Smoking policy

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the villas. Designated smoking areas are available outside. Please respect this policy to ensure the comfort of all guests.

23. Noise policy

To ensure a peaceful environment for all guests, we request that noise levels be kept toa minimum, especially during nighttime hours. Any activities that may disturb other guests are discouraged.

24. Lost and found

Shankara is not responsible for personal items left behind. Please check your villa thoroughly before departure. Any found items can be shipped back at the guest's expense.

25. Damage to property

Guests are responsible for any damage to the property during their stay. Any significant damages will be billed to the guest's account, and appropriate steps will be taken to rectify the situation.

26. Health and safety compliance

We adhere to stringent health and safety regulations to ensure the well-being of our guests and staff. Regular sanitation and maintenance protocols are in place to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

We recommend that guests with specific health concerns or conditions consult with their physician before using certain facilities or participating in activities. Our staff is trained to accommodate various needs, but personal health and safety should always be a priority.

28. child safety and supervision

While we welcome families, we ask that parents or guardians supervise their children at all times, especially around the pool, in the sport center, and other recreational areas. Shankara is not liable for any incidents involving unsupervised children.

29. liability waiver

Guests are required to sign a liability waiver upon check-in, acknowledging the inherent risks associated with certain activities and agreeing to hold Shankara harmless in the event of any injury or loss.

30. Accessibility

We strive to accommodate guests with disabilities. Please inform us of any specific needs in advance so we can ensure a comfortable and accessible stay. Our property includes accessible pathways, rooms, and facilities.

31. Environmental responsibility

We encourage guests to participate in our sustainability initiatives by conserving water, recycling, and reducing energy consumption. Information on how to contribute to these efforts will be provided upon check-in.

Guests are welcome to take personal photos and videos during their stay. However, professional photography or videography for commercial purposes requires prior approval from the management.

In the event of a medical emergency, please contact our management team immediately. We have protocols in place for contacting local medical facilities and arranging transportation if necessary.

Familiarize yourself with the location of fire extinguishers and fire exits in the villa. In case of a fire, follow the emergency procedures outlined in your welcome packet and evacuate immediately.

For any special requests such as dietary restrictions, room preferences, or specific accommodations, please inform us in advance. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and ensure a comfortable stay.

36. electrical appliances

Please use the provided electrical appliances with care. Do not overload sockets, and ensure that all appliances are switched off when not in use to prevent fire hazards.

Complimentary parking is available for guests. Please park in designated areas and ensure that your vehicle is locked and secure. Shankara is not responsible for any damage or theft of vehicles.

38. use of recreational facilities

Guests are advised to use recreational facilities such as the sport center, infinity pool, and yoga deck at their own risk. Shankara is not liable for any injuries sustained while using these facilities.

39. check-out procedures

Before checking out, please ensure that all personal belongings are packed, and the villa is left in a reasonable condition. Report any damages or issues to the management team. Late check-out may be available upon request and subject to availability.

40. Guest conduct

We expect all guests to behave respectfully and responsibly. Any disruptive, abusive, or illegal behavior will result in immediate eviction without refund.

41. water safety

While we strive to provide clean and safe water, it is recommended to use bottled water for drinking. Tap water is generally safe for bathing and washing.

42. wildlife and nature

Shankara is located in a natural environment. While we take measures to control pests, encounters with local wildlife such as insects, birds, and small animals may occur. Please respect the local wildlife and avoid feeding or disturbing them.

43. right to refuse service

Shankara reserves the right to refuse service to any guest who violates our policies or behaves in a manner that is harmful to the property, staff, or other guests.

44. Changes to terms

Shankara reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Guests will be notified of any significant changes prior to their stay.

By booking and staying at Shankara, guests acknowledge and agree to these general terms and conditions. Our primary goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for all our guests.
